To our friends, our family, and to the people who have told us they do not want to hear what we’re doing or why this matters to us, this is why. A few days ago, Renee Good was shot and killed in Minneapolis. I want to start by offering my deepest condolences, Stacey and I, both to her family, to the people who loved her, and to everyone who is grieving right now. This is heartbreaking, and it’s infuriating. And if you’re feeling outraged like we are, angry, sick to your stomach, or exhausted by all of this, I want you to know that you’re not alone and there is something that we can do now.
A chaplain from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital who was a legal citizen was detained by ICE for 73 days and he talked about turning awakened righteous anger into good, into the ways we actually can. That’s what this is about. And I want to be really clear about something. This is not about politics and it’s not about party lines, race, gender, education, or ideology. It’s about human decency. It’s about whether you’re willing to love, stay curious, and actually hear one another instead of reacting.
This exact kind of situation is why we chose to create Rich Life Alliance in the first place. Not because it’s a business or a project, but because people are being harmed without knowing their rights and without an attorney to call when everything is happening fast because most people simply cannot afford one. And at the core of everything we do, it’s empowerment and protection.
This isn’t about adding fear or division. It’s about seeing reality clearly and giving people tools to take action with courage and care. The justice system has always existed, but access to it has not.
Right, protection has been available in theory, but reserved for people with money and power. When things escalate quickly, most families are left completely exposed. I want to say this clearly to all of our communities. We see you, we hear you, and we are fighting with you. All families are living in fear because our government has given approval for people to be harassed, beaten, detained and even murdered.
That is our reality. We cannot pretend otherwise and we cannot stop it alone. But what we can do is make sure people are not standing alone when it happens. We can make sure families have protection in place before they are targeted, that they know their rights, and that they have immediate access to legal support. So, ask yourself this. If you’re protesting and you’re detained, if you are a teacher, protecting your students and authorities’ gen. If you’re wrongfully detained for simply existing in the wrong place at the wrong time, who do you call? Most people don’t have an attorney. Most people never have. And if you don’t know your rights or can’t afford to access them, you don’t actually have any.
For as low as $29.95 a month. People can now have protection in place before something happens. Real attorneys, 24-7 emergency access, an entire law firm with coverage across the United States and Canada, across more than 89 areas of law. So something that has never been accessible before now is. And if you’re someone who has the ability to do more, there’s also a way to help fund protection for others. With the one-time $99 setup you can help get families in our communities protected, people you love and people who are vulnerable and our partnered company compensates you for helping do that so you can keep giving back to the cause.
You can also protect someone directly by covering a family for an entire year at 10 % off. So that’s $324. A real safety net before a crisis, before detention, before another tragedy. So instead of waiting until after something terrible happens, instead of another GoFundMe, instead of wishing there was something you could do, this is something you can do. You can protect yourself and you can protect a family in your community, at your school or in your workplace. This is how we turn righteous anger into something good. This is how we protect people before it’s too late and this is we keep speaking.
